The Coalition Archive

Every page of the 1996-98 Internet Access Coalition site, restored at its original address. A small museum, still on its original street.

The coalition's pages

Seven pages of advocacy

These are the coalition's own pages, © 1997 Internet Access Coalition, text preserved exactly as captured by the Internet Archive's early crawls (the graphics were lost to time): Homepage · Introduction: Keeping The Internet Affordable · Coalition Members · The FCC Examines Internet Access · ETI Study of Internet Access · Press Contacts · What Can You Do?

The study

Seven files of economics

The full HTML edition of "The Effect of Internet Use on the Nation's Telephone Network" (Selwyn and Laszlo, January 22, 1997, © Economics and Technology, Inc.): Table of Contents · Executive Summary · 1. Introduction · 2. Network and Switch Architecture · 3. BOC Studies: General Assessment · 4. BOC Studies: Individual Assessments · 5. Conclusion. Appendix A was a PDF that the early crawlers did not capture.

Provenance

How this archive was made

Sources are the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine captures of internetaccess.org, primarily the February 10, 1998 Alexa crawl, with capture histories running from January 16, 1998 to the mid-2020s depending on the page. Each restored file carries a comment noting its capture date. Wayback's own copies remain the authoritative originals; ours are working restorations at the original URLs, with a banner so no reader mistakes 1997 advocacy for current commentary.

Corrections and additions are welcome, particularly period materials like coalition press releases, the Appendix A PDF, or the original page graphics. Get in touch.
