Which Shape Your Network Actually Needs
Most buyers start by asking for point-to-point links between every pair of sites, which is the most expensive way to build almost any network. Draw the traffic first: if most of it flows between branches and one central location, hub and spoke costs considerably less and behaves identically for that pattern.
Full mesh is worth paying for when sites genuinely exchange traffic directly with each other and the volume is high enough that routing it through a hub would create a bottleneck. That is less common than it sounds, and it is easy to test by looking at where traffic actually goes today.
The other question is whether you need transport at all. If sites mostly reach cloud applications rather than each other, internet access at each location with SD-WAN over the top often delivers the same result at lower cost and with far quicker installs.

Ethernet services scale in defined steps rather than continuously, which is one of their advantages: increasing capacity on an installed circuit is frequently a configuration change instead of new construction. Ask where the steps are for the service you are buying and what moving between them costs.
The handoff is where installs go wrong more often than anywhere else. It is the physical interface the carrier presents in your building, and the connector type, optics and whether it is copper or fibre all have to match what your equipment expects. Confirm this in writing before install day, because a mismatch turns a working circuit into a delivery that cannot be connected.
Ask about the MTU as well. Ethernet services frequently support larger frames than the public internet, which matters for storage replication and backup traffic, but only if it is configured end to end.
Multi-carrierWhen One Carrier Cannot Reach Every Site
Any network spread across regions eventually hits the limits of a single carrier's footprint. There are two ways through this and they carry different trade-offs.
One carrier can wholesale the last mile from another to reach a site outside its territory. That preserves a single contract and one support number, at the cost of longer repair times when the fault lies in the borrowed segment, because your provider must escalate to a company you have no relationship with.
Alternatively you can contract regionally with the carrier that owns the network in each area and stitch them together yourself, which gives better repair times and worse administration.
